POLICY BRIEF: Banning Organic Waste As A Solution To The Regional Waste Management Crisis And Climate Change Mitigation Measures

Starting January 1, 2024, the West Java Provincial Government officially banned the disposal of organic waste at the Sarimukti Regional Landfill in the Metro Bandung area. YPBB supports this ban not only as a short-term solution to the Bandung Waste Emergency but also as an effort to enhance the local government’s capacity to meet greenhouse gas reduction targets, in line with the Regional Low Carbon Development Plan.
